JOY Ful little Art Angel

A smiling angel made out of paper and chipboard that wears a crown and says Joyful.

A smiling art angel made out of paper and chipboard wearing a crown and a Joyful tag. — I love pairing words within my Art Angels so that they work together. Attitude, Joyful and Moment are all present. The pink background was a black and white image that I made and copied onto Astrobright paper. I’m thinking about placing the whole thing in a cello bag for giving.

Before adding any color, I used my carving tool and gouged out some knicks and lines out of the wood panel. It helped to give the ink a place to play.

I had some 4″x 4″ wood squares that needed some paint. The text was taken from some old airplane maintenance books from the 40’s. I love combining the technical verbiage with the loose, colorful imagery.
